Workout: Exercise bike, 32 min, 112 avg-hr, 242 cal
Just did a light and casual day on the exercise bike. Knee is feeling good despite yesterdays spin bike festival and walking 6 or so miles around Philadelphia.

Finally got back into the gym today. Stomach flu just really took it out of me.
Now, while I had a few days with no exercise… the real crime is I haven’t made a daily entry in 3 weeks. Unacceptable. I have notes… but for some reason just kept procrastinating making my entries. I think I need to make it easier. Move from WordPress to a custom app so I just have some blanks to fill in and don’t have to do any fancy formatting manually.
Workout: 100 pushup challenge test and then TRX circuit, 20 min
To give myself a new goal I am starting the 100 pushup challenge. It is basically a program for working your way up to doing 100 pushups in a row non stop.
I did the initial test, which “calibrates” you so you know which column to use. I did 32 consecutive pushups before I started slowing down and getting sloppy at which time I stopped – per the challenge – you want 100 clean proper form pushups.
I was amazed at how many I cranked out. A year ago I did a fitness eval and made maybe 5 before I fell on my face. Today I did 32 before I got sloppy and needed to slow down. I probably could have rested for 5 or 10 seconds and done more… but thats not the challenge!
The good news is that I get to skip to Week 3. The bad news is I get to skip to Week 3 – which is a lot of pushups!
Workout: TRX and dumbell circuit, 30 min
Trying to stay off my knee. I AM DOING the Lake Charles Gator Series tri on Mar 29th… so it needs to be better asap so I can get back to training.
Workout: TRX circuit, 20 min
Woke up during the night and knee was hurting. Got up for race with little to no sleep but was all packed for once, but knee was still screaming. Bailed on going to Lake Charles
Just did some TRX. Nothing exciting.
Workout: Elliptical, 35 min
Gonna do the Lake Charles Duathlon tomorrow. 2 mile run, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run.
Figured some light elliptical to keep the body loose would be good.
Knee is feeling ok. Not hurting really… just letting me know it is not fully healed.
Workout: Elliptical, 24 min
Just needed to get moving… knew if I went outside I would want to run… not pretty enough here to walk and didn’t feel like driving anywhere. But hey… it’s something.
Workout: Pilates, 50 min
Was in a funk today but my friend Josie guilted me into attending her pilates class.
Honestly, it was the most brutal core workout experience I have ever endured. Definitely going to be adding it to the rotation. As a cyclist and runner I need a strong core… as a computer junky I have a weak core… so this will be a big help.
Workout: Spinning class, intervals, 45 min, 151 avg-hr, 584 cal
Did my first spinning class today. It was good stuff. Will defintely be doing more… while I would rather ride my bike outside this does allow better interval and strength training.
Workout: Elliptical, 30 min
I am trying to keep an eye on this kneecap pain… so I just stuck to the elliptical today. Feels fine… but I am doing a duathlon in Lake Charles this weekend so I am playing it safe.
